First album of the fiddler Édouard Richard. The quebecois Mr. Richard was born and has always lived in the village of Grande-Vallée, in the Gaspé Peninsula, on the north side of the peninsula. Ti-douard, to his friends and family, learned much of his repertoire from his grandfather Joseph Richard as well as from the latter’s faithful accomplice, Mr. Didier Lebreux.
The album, which was honoured with the 2002 Mnemo Prize, features eighteen violin pieces from his vast traditional repertoire as well as two original compositions from his own creation.
Produced and directed by Éric Beaudry under Minuit dans la cuisine label.
With the participation of Édouard Richard as well as fiddlers Simon Riopel, Claude Méthé and Stéphanie Lépine.
